bringing back memories.

yesterday i came up to salt lake to see shel. we had some things planned, but kind of last minute we decided to go see the fall out boy concert at the saltair. not going to lie...they are not really my favorite band slash i haven't listened to them since high school. needless to say, they were pretty good, and some of the bands before were pretty good, too. i was surprised at how many songs i remembered. the most entertaining thing of the night was that it reminded me of high school, and made me feel old. in high school, i would go to concerts all the time and (this is embarrassing) i would go crazy. not that i'm that much older, but i don't think i miss the sweaty/smelly punk rock band atmosphere anymore. we also saw david archuleta who was there watching the show. he is precious, probably more precious face to face then on tv.

just trying to be hardcore. seriously...we were trying to fit in :] oh the memories.

just thinking.

today has been a weird day at work. actually this past month has been depressing but also has made me realize how lucky i am. i have sent almost one person home every shift on hospice or they have died. i know we are all going to die, but so many of these patients are so young. it really makes me realize how lucky i am and how grateful i am for all the blessings i have. realizing how easily life can pass by has reminded me of all the little things.
on a lighter note... i have two tests left and then i'm graduated. i go home for a week on may 6th. i love may in kansas...it is tornado season meaning that the thunderstorms are the best. this past weekend paige, jen, and i went to a byu baseball game. it reminded me of summers in kansas going to the royals games. i'm going to miss it, even though this is my third summer away. shelly and i are planning a trip to california. we bought tickets yesterday and are totally stoked. her roommate is getting married and my friend RK who has been in iraq with the marines is finally home and stationed in san diego. i missed him last time he was in KC for RR, so it will be so good to see him. i am ready for a vacation and the beach and some sun.

one word. vegas.

so, due to recent events (as you can see in the previous post), shelly and I made a little weekend trip to vegas. i had never been, and although my mother keeps telling me it's the city of sin (yes folks, it is, but it is still however a glorious location for sun), i had the time of my life. we drove down saturday morning (through utah while it was snowing) into the fabulous sunshiney location of las vegas. saturday we went to in-n-out (my first time ever), got pedi's, went to a david copperfield show, and followed it up with a little bit of dancing. can i just tell you a little bit about our hotel room. we stayed at the signature towers owned by MGM grand. they are the most beautiful buildings. we ended up getting to stay on the 32nd floor in a penthouse suite-jacuzzi, balcony, a kitchen, it was all beautiful. literally, i didn't lift a finger all weekend. sunday and monday, we laid by the pool...just what i needed. we made it back safely last night, and although since school ends next week and my life will be a piece of cake, i'm still missing the glorious sunshine. here are a few pictures to reminisce.

one last thing...the country music awards were in the mgm grand on sunday night.

I searched long and hard for the beautiful man above, but sadly never found him.

a much needed vacation

this week has been fabulous. i only have to work twice, i found out what i'm getting for my tax refund, and i'm leaving tomorrow for sun valley for a little weekend trip with dad. lately, i have gotten a little taste of what life is going to be post-graduation from my bsn. i've been looking for stuff to keep me busy after i completely graduate and just work 3 days a week. a couple of things i have thought of are taking a cake decorating class, becoming a reader (he's just not that into you and confessions of a shopaholic, to start off the summer), work on a tan (once it's warm enough), and get back into my work-out routine. any other ideas or other reading ideas? some girls from work have said to pick up on some new crafty hobbies or to go shopping...the latter of which, might get me into trouble. i'm terrified that i might become bored...part of me doesn't want to for a while so i can enjoy being a little lazy.

concentration

well well well...i think i'm taking lessons from paige because i'm blogging instead of studying for my physics test i'm going to go take here shortly. I was listening to music while studying and all of a sudden remembered... I forgot to write that i'm going to see keith urban.
finally. i have been dying to see him since i think my second semester in idaho (idaho somehow converted me to some country). the concert is september 9th and andrea and i are going. he only has one song officially out on the radio, which is precious (video to follow). andrea found Kiss a Girl the other day...precious as well. if you are a country fan, or at least a keith urban fan, you will enjoy the following.

my mother would not be happy but...

lately, along with my spring fever, i have been wanting to buy a scooter. how precious would that be? couldn't you see me cruising around town on a green scooter. 80 mpg...I could go the entire summer on a tank of gas just going to work and the gym. wouldn't that be glorious.

now, these are relatively safe..much safer than a motorcycle. put on a cute helmet (mind you a sturdy/durable helmet) and you are ready to go.
