slacking in the blogging world.
my sister brought to my attention yesterday that i have not updated my blog in quite some time. i've been pretty busy with work, but mostly life has been pretty uneventful. i started a second job at the hospital. i work with the hospitalists doctors prn. i basically round with them and make sure that everything is organized and prepared for discharge when the patient is ready to go home. it's a nice change of pace from working the floor. i'll probably work that job maybe 3 or 4 times a month on average.
so the past couple of weeks have been pretty low key. the week before the 4th mom, dad, and sophie came to visit. sophie and i had a sleepover which we both loved. apparently she is still talking about it. i also bought a brand new tv...i'm excited to be a home owner someday. it's fun to buy things and enjoy them. who knew, right? the weekend of the 4th i worked. being on the 7th floor at the hospital is great because provo has a hot-air balloon festival in the mornings so i got to see it both mornings up close and personal. after work on the fourth i went up to draper to a bbq at paige's sisters, and then we watched the fireworks in sandy. the night was fun but i was tired and ready for bed by 1030.
the week after the fourth i worked quite a bit, but managed to find time to have some fun too. tuesday i went to a boys like girls concert up in slc with tristyn and her sisters and cousins....we definitely enjoyed ourselves. i ended up having to work the next day so i was pretty tired. i finally signed up for the daybreak triathlon so i am now locked into doing it. i've been training pretty consistently and already am seeing results so i'm way happy about that...maybe i'll get back into my swimming days shape...wouldn't that be glorious? i think so.
this past weekend i spend with shel bell and her family up in slc. we had lots of fun playing with her neices and nephews at lagoon. we decided that might have to be our trip for the month since i'm going to st louis here in a few weeks to see jamie and robert. we might go back next week with our bounce back passes...we can get in for $9.
heading to lagoon.
anyway. today i am making a ton of cupcakes. we are having a "bachelorette" party for the tv show tonight with a few friends. i'm so glad she finally kicked wes off last week. he deserved it and i hope his career falls to shambles.
oh well. hopefully i'll have some fun stories to keep everyone updated with soon.

yes, another trip
so this last weekend shelly and i went to las vegas again. lots of fun times and memories, and yes, it was blasted hot! I kind of asked for the heat...it had rained here for a week straight before we left so i was ready for some sun! I came back with a great tan and a total lack of sleep. shelly lost her camera, and the majority of pictures were on there. i have a few on my camera that i will upload later. we saw mystere, the cirque de soleil show. AMAZING! one of the coolest shows i have ever seen! other events included pool time, nice dinners at mon ami gabi and the eiffel tower restaurant, dancing, wandering around the strip, more pool time, m & m world (i love the green one), more pool time, the lions at MGM, and of course, a trip to In n Out. The pool took up most of our time, no complaints here. We stayed at Planet Hollywood...it was nice, but we missed our suite from the last trip. next up, i'm heading to St. Louis to visit Jam and Robert.

one thing checked off on the bucket list
last week shel and i went to san diego for marissa's wedding and to see rk since he gets out of the marines in t-minus 3 days from today. can i please move to san diego? we left on thursday and came back today...i almost had to be dragged on the plane as i was praying we would miss it. anyway, it was quite an eventful trip. we went to del mar beach, multiple in-n-out trips, dancing, knott's berry farm, driving around in "the golden egg" in downtown san diego, a quick trip to LA, a visit to malibu to lay out on zuma beach, and coronado. although this was all a blast, there was one thing that we did that is my new found love. i jumped out of a plane at 13000 feet. yes, i went skydiving. i have always wanted to, but never have been able to. rk and i have been talking about it since the beginning of april, and so yes, i jumped out a perfectly good plane (yes, tandem, but that is a small detail right?)
so skydiving is the biggest rush. the guys at the place we jumped told us never to come back because it is like heroin. well i don't know what heroin is like, but i am now addicted to skydiving, or at least i wish i could be (financially it probably is not the best addiction). i didn't buy the video, but there are before and after pictures. please, if you have the chance....GO! you will not regret it.
anyway, here are a few pictures. i'm sure i'll post some more stories/pictures after i recover from being sleep-deprived. oh..another fabulous thing...THERE IS PANERA IN CALIFORNIA!
In-n-Out
beach time/ 5 hours

Going out in Pacific Beach
pre-skydiving. and look at this classy nurse downtown san diego :) love it.
